Top 5: 1.DAVID GILMOUR: His tone & taste is just amazing.A very clean guitarist that plays from the heart. Great tremolo bar work he does(Listen to Echoes, Pink & Velvet with Berlin, Until We Sleep Live version). 2.JEFF BECK:Another clean guitarist that knows what he wants, he does some great instrumental tunes. 3.Frank Zappa: A funny and cool guitarist that gets the job done with is various genres. He has alos played guitar live with Pink Floyd at the Amougies Pop & Jazz Festival, they per formed Intersteallar Overdrive(Would love to hear Zappa & Gilmour imporvise together) 4.Jimi Hederix: He was not to technical and quite sloppy at some times, but he still got the job done. 5.Jimmy Page: Overrated but great. Honorble Mentions: Les Paul, Eddie Van Halen, Slash, BucketHead, & Trey from Phish.

Stratman - nice list. In no real order: Dave Gilmour Jimi Hendrix EVH Danny Gatton Jimmy Page Hendrix and EVH both redefined the genre which gets them a few extra points. What can you say about Gatton but wow, real shame. Since we're on a PF forum I've gotta put Big Dave in there. Although he's nothing like as good as the others technically, he's probably the most melodic and musical guitar player around, great timing, amazing solos etc etc. Btw I've got an EVH signature guitar (Peavey Wolfgang QT Special) so I'm a bit biased.

We're making fun of him because he's trying to convince us that what he likes should be what everyone likes, which is purely nonsensical. Plus he can't spell.
