The live version of Comfortably Numb off of the Is There Anybody Out There? disc, dave's solo is well beyond the studio version for pure emotion in each note

Re: Best song on "The Wall"

Well, Comfortably Numb is one of my all time favourite songs, but from this album i really love also the other 2 composed with Gilmour: Run Like Hell and Young Lust. And i could never leave behind of course Another Brick in the Wall (part 2 & 3), Mother and Goodbye Blue Sky from the 1st cd and Hey You and The Trial from the 2nd cd.
I love The Wall!!!

I came here looking to find out how many solid tracks are on The Wall, in the opinion of others. Everyone seems to like the "hits" (though not the actual chart topper, ABitW, Pt.2), but I am curious about what people think of the shorter tracks. Do they stand on their own? Are they "filler"? Or do they exist to push the narrative along? I've always been a HUGE fan of "The Thin Ice."

IMHO, some of the filler is rubbish (Vera comes to mind), but others are great (Goodbye Blue Sky, Nobody Home, ABITW-III, even The Trial).

Re: Best song on "The Wall"

I wouldn't consider "Vera" or "The Trial" filler, both are songs that could stand alone from the album. Be they good songs or not is debatable.
