| Books about the Floyd Well this summer while bumming around in Los Angeles i happened to live with a dead head who on the account of his Jerry Garcia infatuation had read the books conversations with the dead, and was currently reading another book about the band, which got me to thinking that i could do likewise with my favorite band (the floyd in case you couldn't figure that out) so once i arrived back home I promptly went out and bought the Saucerful Of Secrets book which is about the history of the floyd, and another book that has information about every single floyd song ever put out. I am wondering who else has read this materials, what you think, what amazed you, what you did not know, what other books are out there that are any good. Just general stuff pertaining to what i have spewed out to all of you.

| Re: Books about the Floyd I have both books. I bought and read "Saucerful" in 91 as soon as it hit the bookstore, so it's been awhile. I thought it was very interesting and informative. At the time, I knew little about the early years with Syd and all, so that was a big help putting together the pieces of that puzzle. I thought Schaffner was very evenhanded with the riff between Rog and Dave, maybe being slightly bias toward Dave. (As I am also). The other book, "Another Brick......" by Cliff Jones, I've just used for reference, not reading it from cover to cover. It seems pretty well-done, but I've heard some murmuring about inaccurate info, and I myself found one error....The statement that Roger's dad was in the RAF Bomber Command, which he wasn't. I also have a book by Jason Rich simply called "Pink Floyd." It's the size of a CD and is one of a series covering a couple dozen popular artists. It's good. Finally, I have most of the "The Amazing Pudding" Fanzine issues that were published from about 1983 to 1993. Those are a wealth of info. If anyone has a chance to get 'em, do it.

| Re: Books about the Floyd I ran across an issue in a music store. I then subscribed to it until it folded in 1993. Meanwhile, I had bought all the back issues I could get. One of the editors of T.A.P., Bruno MacDonald, has a book out now which is probably a condensation of all those (60) issues. It's called: "Pink Floyd--Thru the eyes of the Band, it's fans, Friends & foes." I'll probably get it.
