Re: Animals or The Wall ?

I voted for The Wall because I think that it has more depth than Animals. I believe that The Wall is a little weaker musically than Animals, but The Wall is by far lyrically superior. If Animals were longer then, I would vote for it.

If The Wall were shorter, I might have given some thought to nominating it instead.

Re: Animals or The Wall ?

You can find my vote here < (that is to say, under my avatar's tail). Polls are for breakfast radio shows and white men with fork-tongues ...
There's an interesting/intense/joyous/...etc headspace created (for us) by both of these pieces of work - and said 'headspaces' cannot be replicated/conjured/appraoched/...etc by either album's most poignant moments (nor, for that matter, even by some of their most illustrious counterparts - they tell their own stories). Their effect is entirely unique - without the former, the latter is not possible. I think we call this 'evolution'.

Discuss by all means, but poll ? Tut tut. Bit linear, isn't it ?

Re: Animals or The Wall ?

"The Wall is by far lyrically superior"...
What? I guess that in your narrow perspective, mr. WatersIsGod, symbols mean nothing... You can't say that The Wall is, I quote, "by far lyrically superior". The Wall has good lyrics, to the point, and that is the war. But Animals is more rafined. The whole symbol with Master/Dog/Sheep is just great. I can't put into words the meaning of this album, you gotta feel it. You gotta be crazy... to consider The Wall a deeper album, lyrically, than Animals. Anyway, I'm a little bit confused and tired, so don't take it perssonally. Just know your albums.
And the Psalm 23 things is awsome. The lord is shepherd, I shall not want, he makes me down to lie... and so on, and so forth. But the end is my favorite: Through quiet reflection and great dedication, master the art of karate, and then we'll make the buggers eyes water, or something like that, I'm too tired to remember. So, good luck!
