Suffice it to say The Wall goes much deeper than what most folks realize. Even this well informed panel we have here at the ALL PINK FLOYD FAN NETWORK cannot truly appreciate what THE WALL truly means to select group of folks.

Clinical Depression is not something easily discussed by those of us who have suffered through it at one point in our lives. The emotions, observations, paranoia, and general feeling of being disconnected from society are difficult to communicate to those who have not been afflicted. The Wall IS clinical Depression. It does not show evidence of Rog's depression, it simply is the embodyment of depression, it's absolutely brilliant.

Strangely, I find it quite uplifting. After all Pink goes through, after the delusions, the paranoia, the abuse suffered upon him by those who do not understand the condition, he still manages to struggle onward. His will to persevere still intact. He's an emotional basket case, but he moves forward.
It's inspiring.

You have perfectly sumed up everything I have ever thought about The Wall. There was a time in my life when I felt like I had to either listen to the album, or watch the movie every day just to make it through. Thankfully it passes, and life goes on, but I can simply find nothing less than perfect about it because of how well I can relate.

Being able to relate and listening to good music are two separate issues, indeed.

True...but I'd be a liar if I said my personal feelings don't play a part in the music I enjoy.

Talking Easy

No contest here, Animals is the best Pink Floyd album ever, forget The Wall. Better than Dark Side of The Moon, Animals is a largely underrated classic. Not only the greatest Pink Floyd album, but one of the best albums of all time, by the 2nd best band, 2nd to YeS

Red face YeS

Listen to the Close To The Edge album by YeS, and see your ignorance.
