Well, it was pretty much a solo because Mr. Wright didn't even come in until midway through production or later. As for Mr. Mason, he seems not to have wished to contribute for quite some time, at least, according to the official credits. So, Mr. Gilmour was the main Floydian on that album. BTW, there's no proof of the drug allegations, just rumours, and that's all I intend to say on that.

Okay, we have tons of assumption to get through before i get to the gist...but here goes: assuming the article is atrue representation of actual interviews of the band, and assuming the reponses given, as far as those giving them are concerned, are true... ...how can anyone refuse to accept that someone was enjoying themselves with a bit of coke "laying around?" WRIGHT -- It would have been quite easy to say, "Oh he left because he had a cocaine problem or a drink problem." I can honestly say that it really was not a drug problem. It was taken without a doubt by him, me, Dave, Nick, Bob Ezrin, but purely socially, it wasn't lying around in the studio. WATERS -- There *were* people who were doing a lot -- some of us had big, big problems. I certainly wasn't doing drugs at that point. I'm not saying anyone in the band was addicted or had a drug problem, but I am convinced that cocaine (and much besides) could have been laying around and used. "Marmalade. I like marmalade." |

What I've had such a problem with is people alleging that he had some kind of addiction issue, with exactly NO evidence to back that up. I would think they've all experimented from time to time...but there have been those who have made some really stupid allegations.

Animals.. It feels more Floydish than The Wall. It's also some of Wright's best keyboard-work on ANY Floyd album. The Orwellian theme may be a bit cliche but it's more interesting than the "burned-out-rockstar-who-no-one understands-enclosed-in-his-own-wall" theme. And I wouldn't even try to compare either album to the Final Cut. IMO, TFC isn't even Pink Floyd, but rather a Waters album with the Floyd logo. The same could be said of Momentary Lapse for Gilmour.

Are you saying that you didn't like the final cut/and the later PF albums, or are you saying that they are simply not the same as the ones before THE WALL?

It's a pretty obvious answer man

Hey, I love The Final Cut, but The Wall doesn't even come close to Animals(niether does TFC for that matter). Animals is pure genious.

Well in terms of concept, I'd say "The Wall". But musically, "Animals" is far superior. "The Wall" is very dry, and there's not enough of Mr Wright's playing present (listen to his Kurzweil playing on "Dogs" and you'll notice how much he adds to the band's sound).

no kurzweil on dogs. what are you crazy! its a madhouse! a madhouse!

I think the Kurzweil is a bit recent for that album...
