Van Halen are overrated as hell. I could name many bands that are way better, but I'd be cold until I can finish the list.

to Nalepa: you're kidding. Beatles are a bit overrated, but Lennon was a genius and saying that they can't play their instruments is just ********. The now pop artists compared to them can't play ANY instruments at all and most of them can't even sing.

I voted for Van Halen, again, for the reason that nothing they did really stands out as great for me. Also, Led Zep is overrated. Zep may have helped the advance of heavier music, but IMO, Plant's voice is downright annoying on some songs. Again, that's just my opinion... I'll probably be crucified for saying that, but oh well.
