Re: The Great 7 bands

are you not sure whether or not you like being a pain in the ass? the smilie at the end kind of put me off. anyhow, I admit I get fed up with stupid people sometimes, and very annoyed, but on the other hand, I know I'm not always the brightest of the bunch, if that. and i'm sure i get annoying at times, too.

Re: The Great 7 bands

Jay Mohr had this to say about stupid people. And I am paraphrasing.

You ever notice that when you talk to stupid people at the end of the conversation you wanna kill them? That's cause your supposed to kill them, its your nature to weed the bad genes out of the pool. Don't let these people pass their stupidity onto another generation.

Of course, as I said, I am just paraphrasing. But I totally agree with him.

Re: The Great 7 bands

Threads like this always get people worked up because it's inevitable that when there's a list of a few popular bands the ones that get bashed are those that people know least about (i wonder how many people who voted for Van Halen have heard any of their albums?). But anyway, when people say things like "they're ok i guess - but nothing special" about a band, there's a 1 in 2 chance that they have only heard maybe 1 album, or possibly just 1 or 2 songs, and from that they make a stupid misinformed comment that really pisses some people off.

So all i am really saying is that maybe people should just stop making these damn stupid threads where people just end up pissing other guys off, and getting pissed off themselves. remember - if you were on any other forum there would be dumb asses saying "pink floyd? they're just a drugged out hippy band for stoners to listen to when they're high" (i'm sure most of us have heard this before . Maybe you would then know how annoying it is to read stupid misinformed comments.

Except I listen to Van Halen, really I do, and I enjoy them, but come on, they are no Pink Floyd.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier (I had an imposed vacation from APPFN), but the leads on Ticket to Ride, Taxman, and some other Beatles songs were played by Paul, believe it or not.

Re: The Great 7 bands

Talkin about van Halen... do you know "Lost Boys Calling" from the soundtrack of The Legend of the Pianist on the Ocean? Is it by Morricone and performed by Waters/van Halen, or did Rog just write the lyrics, or what else...?
