Reunion: yet another rumour And now go to: http://www.tapscott.com/%7Erobp/floyd_news.html

Yeah, that article seems pretty suspect to me.

I think the phrase "I'll believe it when it happens" sums up my feelings about this article, Roger and Nick performing together for one song at one gig will not a reunion make methinks. It would take a massive about face by both Roger and Dave to pull it off and I just can't see it happening - although if they'd like to prove me wrong I don't think I'd mind too much

Not to mention a total make-up of the conflict between Roger and Rick. Who knows when, if at all, that will happen.

As long as all four of the "boys" are still alive and well these sort of rumours will continue to circulate, hell they could all die tomorrow (God forbid) and I reckon there'd STILL be reunion/tour/new album rumours!

Who plays second guitar...Tim Renwick or Snowy White? Percussion Gary Wallis or Graham Broad? I could just see Gilmour and Waters disagreeing and calling the whole thing off. Of course, I'd say it's crap anyway.

A make-up between the RW's...I'd have to hear it from both to believe it! Just to let everyone know--the original source of the article, the Express, is a British periodical that has the status of the National Enquirer. In other words, it's a tabloid. Playing on the wishful thinking of fans by distorting Mr. Mason's actual quotes, is what I think is going on here. This article has been backed up by NO other periodicals, NO other members.

Actually FWr, The Daily Express <link> is nothing like The National Enquirer <link> except that they are both "news"-based publications. The Express is an UK national daily newspaper aligned, usually, with the (small "c") conservative or political right-wing of society with perhaps less commendable writing, sources and qualities than the "broadsheet" dailies (The Times, The Financial Times, The Guardian, or The Independent). Perhaps. In no way is it as much of a tabloid as the Enquirer which is much more like our Daily Star, Daily or Sunday Sport, and The News of the World <link> which are just junk papers for the most part written by disreputable hacks. Really, The Express, The Sun <link> and The Daily Mail <link> are all right-of-centre national "tabloids" here whose apparent political opposite is The Daily Mirror <link>. The Sun, unsurprisingly the most popular daily, is a pitiful jingoistic rag (the others not being much better) unless you're a pubescent boy interested only in SunSport or more probably the titillating semi-nude photos of the long-running "Page 3 Girls" <link>. Anyway, though this perennial PF reunion rumour is hard to believe from anyone except perhaps the horses' mouths, I'd be much more inclined to believe the Express (or The Sun) than the Enquirer. Much much more. In any case, I will also only believe it when I see it, hoping against all sensible hope the rumour IS true.

While I am not defending the Enquirer, in recent years they have steadily built up a reputation of being truthful. Sure it is still gossip, but this time, they are not making it up. The Enquirer was the first to bring things like Alec Baldwin and Kim Bassinger breaking up, Rosie is gay, etc. Not the kinda news I wanna read, but nonetheless, true. Oh, they still have the whole alien baby thing and Elvis is alive from the seventies and eighties that they have to shake off.

American Tabloids don't forget the all time greatest headlines, courtesy of (I believe) The Weekly World News: Amelia Earheart alive and well on South Pacific Island! and Hitler's Brain alive in Jar in secret Lab! Or (and these are sentimental favourites of mine): JFK and Marilyn Monroe - Alive and living in sin in secret Love Nest! Bat Boy hit by car! His remarkable struggle for life! (For those of you unfamiliar with him, Bat Boy is just that - half bat, half boy. His life is just one big triumph over adversity after another. Why, he's just inspiring...) (And I'm not making these up... Paraphrasing, maybe...) Cheers! GeeDub#1 Last edited by Gilmourwhore#1; 08-11-2002 at 05:03 PM.

You forgot my personal favorite. "Face of Satan Seen in Cloud of Smoke Over Waco." Right after the unfortunate firebombing of the Davidian compound.

A barney could be used to describe anything from a heated argument to a full scale punch-up, usually the latter
