Change of nickname

Is it possible to have the nickname changed keeping posts and profile? I know little more than 100 posts is not such a patrimony, but it's just to save the time of a new registration.
Thx for help

Re: Change of nickname

The Piper will be the one to do this for you--I really am not involved in most of the more technical aspects of the forum. Unfortunately, he's on vacation right now. Maybe you could send him a PM for when he gets back.

Re: Change of nickname

I am pretty sure you can do that, Hicks, a couple of users did, just don't ask me how.

Re: Change of nickname

Not using the control panel, i think only a moderator can do it. I'll see.

Re: Change of nickname

Quite frankly, Hicks, I don't know how. It could be an admin-only function, or just my technical illiteracy.

Re: Change of nickname

Basically I keep an eye the psych ward to make sure the patients don't get too destructive.

For an example, check the announcement I had to place in this forum due to someone who registered recently (they have since vanished as suddenly as they came).

Re: Change of nickname

It's not really very much though, is it? I mean, really, anyone could do the meagre amount of 'moderating' that you reckon you contribute. When it comes down to it, you don't seem to actually even do particularly much of that.

It's a shame that Eugenesaxe relinquished his position. At least he has a sense of humour.

Maybe someone else could do a better job?

Cheers,

Mark

Re: Change of nickname

Yikes! :o

Do you mean to imply that Fwr lacks a certain amount of SoH or levity? Ouch!

I think the best choice for an alternate moderator would be your very good self, fixxster.

Re: Change of nickname

I'm actually glad to say that for the most part, this place runs itself.

i'd like to moderate sometimes, but then i realize i'd probably try and institute "No Undie Monday" and "Free Ballin' Friday" or something like that.

Re: Change of nickname

Methinks yhings are going to get particularly nasty around here.

And, uh, I'd like to apply for a Mod position. How much does it pay?

First act, any mention of the overrated Beatles, immediate ban.
