Newbie Here

Hey everyone

Another newbie here, been a floyd fan since 94
I think Not Now John is right about having a dedicated newbie thread, but seems as there isn't one i'll just pop my first post here instead

And thanks to you for that sensible consideration, ObCOWS. Much much appreciated (the powers that be on here don't mind them too much, as long as they're posted under "Just Babbling" but I personally think it's a waste of space).

Anyway, welcome and enjoy the best damned Pink Floyd site in the world...EVER!

BoaB, there is a bug that will not allow me to move this thread into the Just Babbling forum, so until Piper gets back, we'll have to let it be.

But since it seemed like a good idea, I started a welcome/introduction thread and "stickyfied" it to the top of the Just Babbling forum. Not only will it take up less space, but I think it'll make new posters feel welcome. I'm not going to get cranky if people post their introductions elsewhere, but just offering a place ought to help tremendously. Thank you all for the suggestion!

I wasn't having a go at the mods or the newbies, but just stating my own opinion (that, and two pennies will be enough to buy one two-penny sweet.)

No, no, I didn't see it that way at all. I decided you had a valid suggestion, and it might make it easier on everyone. BTW, I also put a note in to Piper about the bug with the thread-moving function, so hopefully that'll be cleared up when he gets the time.

And yes, I made "stickyfied" up. That's why it was in quotes.

I too think there should always be a 'welcome' area of the forum.
Most boards have them and they keep n00bs from scattering there n00bness all over the board.
I only posted here because I saw other n00b posts so thought it would be ok.
You have to remember,n00bs are always excited about joining boards and go nuts saying how happy they are about joining a great board,thus they post just about anywhere(which should be common sense on where and where not to post,but it happens)
