Welcome also to all the new members who have successfully found the "Hello, I'm new here and would like to say hello/whatever." thread.

Now, the following is a version of the welcome advice I used to give the newbies, but which I have ceased doing because it began to annoy the regulars.

Anyway, although the sheer numbers of threads throughout the entire Forum section can be a bit daunting, if not totally off-putting, please search through the Sections and threads before posting any new ones, to see if your subject of interest has already been covered.

Also, the most excellent SEARCH feature on this site can be used to reduce your searching time, and will cover all the fora (plural form of forum) if used on the main Forums page. Results of searches made from within specific Sections will only search and give results from that section.

This advice is given to help reduce the confusion and nuisance of duplicate threads.

Finally, if you have any questions or require any help, The Piper and FloydWright are the site moderators and protectors, and you can search for or post for help within the Helpdesk and Information section. If the above two aren't immediately available, never fear, there are more than enough big-head know-it-alls lurking about who'll most probably chime in with assistance.

And I know absolutely nothing technical about this vBulletin discussion board dealy so in that respect, I would be of no help to The Piper, FWr or our beloved APFFN.

I am quite happy to continue being unaffiliated and helping out whenever and wherever I can, thanks.

Actually, Byron was invited to be a moderator at one point precisely because of good posts like the one you're citing, Fixxy. However, he declined. I wouldn't expect Piper to disagree, but if Byron ever changes his mind and wants the position, the door is open.

(Note: this doesn't mean no one else would have a chance...if this board grew enough, I wouldn't think it all that unreasonable to have three mods. This is just all my rambling here; in the end, all of it would be Piper's choice.)

And anyway, this thread is SUPPOSED to be a place for new members to come and express their initial zeal or whatever at finally finding a sympathetic place to voice all opinions and ideas regarding Pink Floyd. Not to veer off-topic with discussions about yours truly.
