| Re: Fave Rick Wright work? The solo works of rick wright are much more talented musically than roger waters. Of course, Rog takes the cake on concept and lyrical quality. I have yet to buy ATD, i'll admit. But i'm about to order it when I place my order for pulse. I like what i've read on the theme of ATD -- It has some good points on the annoying parts of american culture. "Our american friends are late home tonight", and I couldn't agree with this statement any more.

That old joke has become not only annoying for the rest of us, but a -- well, I am not gonna speak for Byron.

| Re: Fave Rick Wright work? I think Summer 68 is simply gorgeous, Remember a Day is very dreamy and kind of psychedelic. Those two are my faves that he wrote for Floyd. But i do like his solo stuff, my uncle recommended them to me and i liked them fine.

| Re: Fave Rick Wright work? Rick Wright was wacked mercilessly, at birth, with the 'atmosphere stick'. His chordscapes pretty much glued the whole show together, up until the late 70s. Great songs, great singing and obviously the guitarist of doom, but all for naught without that funky organ. Great Rick moments ? • Great Gig In The Sky - stands on it's own as a masterpiece, and the kicker is that Roger still plays it live. Poetic. • Cat Cruise - one wonders what may have become of this had it become part of the 'Floyd set. Still, nice performance ... and those chords ... • Astronomy Domine (from Ummagumma) - the middle keyboard section as Mason's ride cymbal peters into silence - priceless ! • The Hammond Organ - one would have to say that he's up the with the Lords, Kayes, Booker Ts, et al. To be identified with an instrument because of the way you play is no mean feat.

| Re: Fave Rick Wright work? I've always been a Wearing the Inside Out fan. And now that the Gilmour DVD is out, I've taken a liking to Breakthrough. Never liked Sinead's version, but when Rick sings it - it seems to mean more (and sound more real). For older stuff, Us and Them and Remember a Day are tops on the list. ![]()
