Re: albums

An LP copy of Dark Side of the Moon, with a different mix than the CD version (and every other LP I've heard) of the album.

Seriously.

Re: albums

i think the Pink Floyd Star Profile is as obscure as I get...then again, I guess that technically doesn't constitute and Pink Floyd "album".

Seriously.

Could that be the quad mix?

BTW, the most obscure one that I have is the Echoes CD Sampler which I got for $5.95. That's as obscure as it gets for me.

Re: albums

I've got, like, a Hungarian copy of '...Dance songs' with a funny, peculiar cover rendered in (no pun intended) watercolours, comprising most of the 'Ummagumma' album and, I think, maybe some fighter jets. I know that it's not technically an obscure album, per se....

I'd be interested in hearing more about this DSotM copy you mention above, incidentally, although I reckon it probably is the quad mix.

Snap, crackle and indeed, 'pop',

Mark

Re: albums

It's not an official release so I don't know if calling it "obscure" would be correct, anyway I have a nice couple of CDs called The Unmissable Tracks Vol. 1 - 2. They have a lot of rarities and stuff as Sunshine, Seabirds, Pigs On The Wing 1/2 "loop version" from the 8-track cartridge, Moonhead and alternate versions and so on.

And some of this stuff would deserve some kind of official release, but this is an old story.

Re: albums

I guess I'm pretty mainstream, nothing as obscure as mentioned above. I do have an original release (12" vinyl) of Pros and Cons with the uncensored (full rear view) Album jacket.

Re: albums

I have that too - it's in absolutely pristine condition, as is the vinyl within, probably something to do with the fact that it's not been played for about 20 years

Nothing obscure. Maybe the Bulgarian vinyl release of AMLOR.

Re: albums

"A Saucerful of Monos"
An EXCELLENT-sounding CDR of the mono Piper and Saucerful mixes, sped up slightly by the maker so that they fit on one CD. I took the whole thing, slowed it down to the proper speed with Cool Edit, and burned two separate discs with appropriate bonus tracks. Best bootleg I ever downloaded.

PS: It shouldn't be obscure at all, the mono mixes must reach wide release!! Fight the power!!

Re: albums

No more than it was a crime for EMI to "remaster" the awful stereo mixes: clicks, pops, freaky-deaky panning and all. The least they could have done was release the monos, or, God forbid, actually FIX the awful stereo?
