| If MLOR was.............. IF Momentary Lapse of Reason was a David Gilmour solo album instead a a PF album. How would it rate compared to his real solo albums. And the poll is for your favorite DG solo album...... 1. S/T 2. MLOR 3. About Face |

| Re: If MLOR was.............. My favourite is by far DG. AF is really poor IMO. About AMLOR, if it was... but it is NOT, so it doesn't make sense. It would by by far the best of the three but really it's not a fair comparison. Matter of fact it's not a solo album and, first and foremost, it's not INTENDED to be a solo album.

| Re: If MLOR was.............. DG is excellent , AF isn't I don't think the question about AMLoR is relevant really. |

| Re: If MLOR was.............. I like both - they both contain some great and not-so-great stuff. Let's Get Metaphysical and Near The End are worth the price of admission for About Face. As has been discussed on many another thread, his first solo album has some great guitar-driven tunes. ![]()

| Re: If MLOR was.............. No, it isn't a solo project. Even if technically the contribution of Mason and Wright is very limited, the album is not *supposed* to be a solo project, so it is *not* a solo project. Just listen to his REAL solo albums, you will notice the difference. He couldn't release About Face as a Pink Floyd album, that was David Gilmour, which is different. And I would not underestimate Mason's contribution to the album's production. No matter what he writes or plays.

| Re: If MLOR was.............. 1987 Fairlight curse... Interesting you should mention that...there are three albums in the PF/solo catalogue using the Fairlight: About Face, KAOS, and Zee--Identity. AMLoR does not.

| Re: If MLOR was.............. Then again, I liked all three albums. I'd say as far as musical accomplishment, they rank like this: 1) About Face 2) Radio KAOS 3) Zee--Identity I think in some ways, the Fairlight sounds bad because it was one of the first attempts to do what a modern synth does.

| Re: If MLOR was.............. Sorry mad yannis, I have to disagree. AMLR has far too little collaboration to be a Pink Floyd album. Even if I do enjoy it, none of the collaborative band atmosphere is there.
