Well, actually, to use a phrase used by Colin Murphy, an Irish TV satirist, "Its a Brit-com not an Irish sitcom so ha!".

It was made for British Channel 4, and is therefore not Irish, even though all the actors are.

That was a metaphor. The wheelchair represents the crippling effect all the crappy Irish pop acts have on me. Mind you Atomic Kitten are nothing to shout about either.
