Guitar Players,,,come hear what my lovely Fiance bought me last night! I got a Les Paul Classic with the most beautiful Honey Burst finish I have ever seen. The grain shows through the finish and it is just plain flawless. This guitar has it all, binding on the body and neck, trapezoid inlays, solid mahogany back and neck with a AA figured maple top. This is to me what a Les Paul should be. My fiance is just great, she wanted to get me something I will always have and cherish before I get married on 9-28-02. So, knowing that I wanted a Les like this she asked if I wanted to go look for one. Well, as of last night and $1600 later, I have my dream guitar and I have never heard or played anything so sweet in my life. Some things in life cost money, this guitar to me was worth every penny and then some. Plus, the nice shop owner gave me 7 sets of my favorite strings! Come share some guitar related chats for a while here guys, we all love Floyd so I know we have quite a few guitar slingers around here! Jason

congratulations! Congrat's, OntheWing! I have a Les Paul exactly like that (Classic/Honeyburst) so I know your euphoria. They are indeed works of art. I've always felt guitars like that are the greatest works of art 'cause they appeal to the senses several ways: Look great, sound great, feel great. Perhaps "Nothing rings like a Strat", but also, nothing sustains like a Les Paul. Oh, yeah, a tip o' the cap to your fiancee. Cool gal.

Stratman, Thanks, yeah, she is quite a girl, a real keeper so to speak and that regardless of the guitars she buys me You have that right, as guitar players I always felt that a collection is not complete without a Strat as well as a Les Paul. Well, I have a Les Paul Studio and to be honest it doesnt compare at all to the Classic, not even close. The tone just isnt there. That sustain you speak of is the Les Paul signature if you ask me. You can play it accoustic and just feel the vibration coming through the body. Man, like I said, I havent played a guitar that feels this good in your hands. The first scratch or dent I put in this I will be sick for weeks. I have never been anal about guitars but if you seent he finish on this guitar you would all understand. Jason
