In order to experience and enjoy 5.1 sound you must have 5 + 1 speakers, this is for sure.

My DVD player is hooked up to my reciever which is a 5.1 surround sound system. My point was that I thought all DVDs have this capability since it is pretty much one of two reasons to own one. The other being an enhanced picture.

I have my audio from the dvd player to the receiver with an optical connecter. My video goes to the TV with the Red Blue and Green cables.

To get true dts surround you cant get it with the red and white rca cables you need optical or coaxial cables.

RCA = analog
coaxial or optical = digital

This is what the dude at the store tells me.

I own the VHS of Pompeii which has a "director's cut" description on it. It has the Pompeii footage plus some interviews and Dark Side outtakes. Is this the version prepared for the DVD?

I heard that the Director's Cut on the DVD will include the extra Dark Side footage added on the VHS version, and more. In fact, I think there will be a whole studio runthrough of the entire album! So there will be extra, never-before-seen footage.

Hmm, somewhere in this forum there is a link that leads you to a Dave interview which disspells that myth. Roger and Dave both have said recently that the footage is not actually them making the record, it was already in the can, they are pretending to make it.
