Re: Favorite Division Bell Moments

Why is everyone down on David Gilmour. Granted he isn't a lyricist like RW. Why is it so hard to accept TDB and AMLOR?? This is like all the interviews with David Gilmour; when is the new PF album blah blah blah, People he's working on a solo album and putting out a DVD. So now we have David solo and I'll take DG, or RW anyway I can get them. with or with out PF. Seems like most of you don't deserve PF anyway- so why don't you critics go do your own albums and see how easy it is!! Any way welcome me to the group; this is my first post. PFradfan

What must one do to deserve Pink Floyd?

Re: Favorite Division Bell Moments

Don't take this the wrong way, it is just that everyone seems to think DG did a crappy job with both of the last PF albums. But does anyone know why DG used Polly's lyrics. there is a great interview where she explains how that came to be for her part in lyrics for TDB. Does anyone even care for the members of PF. They are human afterall and yet everyone is PF, PF, PF. What about DG's happiness in watching his children grow and doing his own thing?? I personally find the last two PF albums fantastic and as stated in my last post; I'll take DG, RW or any member of PF anyway they want to present themselves in their music. sorry for the rant! I just can't stand all the critics. laters,
PFradfan

Re: Favorite Division Bell Moments

Well I think the last two albums were good.

As for the stuff about letting him get on with his life...he chose to be a rockstar...and he's been made a very rich man because of it. Being bothered by fans is one of the prices of fame and fortune I'm afraid. I wouldn't have too much sympathy.

PFradfan, I agree completely with you. You're not the only one who feels that way.

I don't expect Dave to do anything for me, I don't think he owes me anything. But I am allowed to dislike something he did.

I love TDB from start to finish, though my mum objects to me playing lost for words because of the f word. censorship begins at home...

I know where your mum's coming from- I've always disliked the word 'Floydwright' too.

Peace,

Mark

Re: Favorite Division Bell Moments

PFradFan i also agree - as i have expressed before - gilmour deserves some peace and quiet - spend some quality time with family and friends. i for one wud be perfectly happy with TDB as the last pf album, they have given us a marvellous back catalogue, so why strive for more?

Re: Favorite Division Bell Moments

Come now, fixxy, no need to be so harsh. What if she said she was only 13 years old?

Me? I hate TDB and AMLOR and think Polly a very poor lyric writing substitute for David himself, let alone Roger. So sue me.

I know that it happens, but I really don't think that there are many 13 year old mothers that use this site

I don't think that that's what Bride of a Bul was meaning, Fixxlevy!

I'm sure that he wasn't. He has a wry sense of humour does 'our' Byron!

And he'll be a brilliant moderator.

And we'll continue to love him, the wicked old witch
