Wink Beatles v Floyd!!!!!

I am a newcomer to this site but have been informed that a lot of people on here think The Beatles to be highly over-rated...how can this be so????? They have had the biggest influence in music, they were so inventive (my god, look at Strawberry Fields!!) and their music is still being played today, 40 odd years after they came into existence.
Pink Floyd, although very inventive, don't really come close!!! I realise that you cant beat them for a real good chill-out session, I appreciate that and to be honeat I really do like the early stuff with Syd ( and Syd's solo stuff is in a class of it's own ) but who i their right mind can POSSIBLY say that The Beatles are over-rated???
BRING IT ON.........

Hasn't this already been done to death? Have a look at The Great 7 Bands thread.

Hey Doc why don't you be a little more subtle next time you decide to tell someone that they started a thread that has already been done before

Re: Beatles v Floyd!!!!!

Cheddar, I thought everything you said was quite all right.

I mean when you first sign up there is a tell-all featuring the search function, if people disregard this advice, the Wraith of Havarti is what they get.

By the way, I can't verbalise my dislike of the Beatles any better than this: They were the first but so many who followed were so much better. And not being much of a pop fan, 90% of their stuff is totally not to my liking.
