Is there a meaning behind the triangle on the cover of Dark Side?

I heard from someone that the triangle is a symbol for something. Not sure what, but i was just wondering if the cover of Dark Side of The Moon had some meaning behind it?

It's probably not that complex a story. The boys wanted something simple, and to emphasize their light show, a prism motif was chosen to show one beam of white light bending to become many colors. Prisms are triangular in cross section. Storm photographed the Pyramids cause they are "triangular" and lend an aire of mystery to the mix.
Well, it worked---y'all are still wondering what the hell it's all about.

The explanation of meaning by stratman is the best you're ever likely to get on DSotM, so don't worry, be happy.

did anybody use that phrase before it was put in a song? I mean, I know the guy who wrote it read it on a poster...I'm sure Meher Baba would be thrilled that it was relatively widespread.. but through a pop song?

...eh, thinking out loud again.

Actually there IS something more.
According to Storm himself, the triangle, the prism and the pyramids symbolize ambition and madness, and the light is also related to their light show.

easy .... it's about the other side. light refracting through a prism to create the colours of the spectrum i.e figuratively means nothing is everything and if the spectrum hits another prism it becomes nothing again. the band chose the cover because of it's trippy appearance!

i seem to remember Storm saying that the pyramid represented ambition in that it draws a parrallel with the pyramids in egypt - which were very ambitious human achievements. But you all probly already guessed as much.

OR DID YOU?

Storm Thongerson reated many variatons for the cover. They just had to choose. It is in DSOTM 30th anniversary documentary that I have seen many times.
