Re: rick wright

Yes. Animals may have been one of his least contributed to album (that make sense to anyone?). But his atmospherics are great on it, the album just wouldn't be the same without it.

Re: rick wright

And we know that Rog couldn't have played the electric piano intro on Sheep.

Couldn't even tune his own bass.

Re: rick wright

It's not that he couldn't tune it, period, it's just that there was so much going on during The Wall shows which Roger needed to focus on and direct, that he didn't have enough time to just stop and tune the bass between songs.

Re: rick wright

There is a passage in the Saucerful of Secrets book, where someone describes Rick tuning everyone's instruments in the early days - because Syd "couldn't be bothered with it" or something like that, and because Roger "was tone deaf".

I'm paraphrasing, of course, but it's there.

Re: rick wright

Check the credits to The Wall - where "Is Anybody Out There?" is credited to Waters, but Gilmour wrote the main guitar line (which is the song, basically) and Bob Ezrin thought up the entire 'Is There Anybody Out There?' theme.

Waters relied on his bandmates and producers more than you think.

Re: rick wright

David Gilmour DID NOT play that song in the studio...it was played by a session flamenco guitar player(read it in the book that came with my "Shine On" set)...and in fact that is NOT true...Roger wrote a simple acoustic riff that dave expanded on...if you had the Wall demos you would know this

Indeed.

But the credits don't always tell the whole story.

Re: rick wright

there are many forms of floyd
roger did not make floyd
dave did not make floyd
floyd will always be floyd just different
agreed roger had the gift of the lyrics
but dave had the gift of the music
the two were at there peek together for darkside
a perfectt mix of daves musical talent and rogers writing abilities
i love the other albums just as much if not more some times as well i jsut feel that darkside is when the band was working best as a whole
and arguing that the new albums with dave and no roger suck
because of no roger is stupid
for one
i dont feel they suck
there jsut differnet however
it doesnt sound different solely because no roger it may have something to due with the age of the band
and arguing that daves solos were easy
who cares
can you play them
and does a solo have to be impossible to be good no
good is good
that is all
long live floyd in all its reincarnations
its bigger then all of us
even the members of the band sometimes

You've got it arranged the wrong way. Have you listened to Pros and Cons?

And yes, you're an asshole.
