Floyd and drugs

I have been reading the books about the Floyd, and from this website i knew that they all had their drug of choice, or multiple drugs of choice, I remeber there being discussion that Rogers discontent with Mr. Wright came about because of a coke habit which i believe has never been confirmed, if it has then okay . . . but it also came to light that Mr. Mason also had a coke habit, i guess what i am getting at is, why if Mr. Wright did coke and Mr. Mason did it too, did Roger decide to pick on Mr. Wright, i am guessing the drug thing was not such a big deal, it was more of Mr. Wright representing the opposite of Rogers political beliefs, but anywho I am interested in hearing peoples opinions about how drugs affected the band after Syds departure, there was also something said about the band being slit into boozers and dope heads, which eventually stoped when the groups started doing both, any how i leave it to the rest of you to discuss what, and why things went down .

First of all, we actually don't KNOW the truth about their supposed habits. But I think that they were far from being a bunch of druggies. About Rick and Roger it wasn't really matter of political beliefs but personality clash. Rick's never been right-winged so it's not correct to say he was "the opposite of Rog's political beliefs".
Back on drugs topic they obviously experienced drugs and they admittedly love their pint of beer but I am sure they never performed a concert on drugs. They've always been professionals and extremely serious about their music.

Also, Roger and Nick actually had a friendship that was separate from the group, and that sort of thing tends to go a long way in 'turning a blind eye'.

Cheers

I think they were recreational users, but by no means on the scale of Morrison, or The Grateful Dead, or any other numerous Rock cliches.

I remember in the commentary part of The Wall DVD, Gerald Scarfe says to Roger, during Young Lust, typical rock n roll party. And Roger says that scene is fictional, Pink Floyd was never a partying band.

I've always thought their drug habits were minimal. A little pot and some alcohol. I believe the "druggie band" title comes from their fans who have built a reputation for useage while listening.
Witnessing Syd's demise had to have scared the bejeezus out of them all.

I always thought Dave looked pretty out of it in early photo's of the band but, I dunno, maybe that's just the way his face was.

You're fooling yourself if you think that drugs had anything more than a minimal impact on the creative output of the group after Syd left.

I'm sure Several Species is a walk in the park compared to what Household Objects could have been, had they finished it...
