Re: Favorite Concerts/Recent Shows...

The free downloads are taken from the gig that I saw them at and I think, if I listen closely enough, that I can even hear my then-girlfriend scowling in the audience as they came back on and played yet more horrible noise that she totally hated.

Ah, good times!

was she howling in a mean way?
i just didn't like the guys singing...that is all
& if they could have played other songs instead of the "popular" ones...that would be great....
the guy could have done perfict at singing The Nile

Ah, what a great live band. Not overly fond of their studio stuff, but man, when I saw them live, I had a whole new appreciation for them. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see them when they came by here again not too long ago.

I saw swedish black metal band In Flames yesterday. I don't usually listen to that type of music but my friend's a big fan so I went with him and it was surprisingly good. Very very good.

Sunday, I saw The Gift, the best portuguese band, in my opinion. Great show!

Iron Maiden at the MEN Arena, Manchester last Thursday night. They played the 'A Matter of Life and Death' album from start to finish, followed by 'Fear of the Dark' , 'Iron Maiden', '2 Minutes to Midnight', 'The Evil That Men Do' and 'Hallowed be thy Name' to round off a superb night

I saw them last year(3th time) but they played only the first 4 four albuns. I miss them!

Yesterday, I listened to a bootleg of the Helsinki show from last month, and at the end Bruce says "See you in 2008". A tour of classic material is in the pipeline apparently

It was the first time I've seen them live but hopefully not the last. During last weeks gig in Manchester, Bruce also said 'There must be a piece of grass we can turn into a mud bath around here somewhere next summer' hinting at an open air concert in 2007

Holy schnikes. Last night I got to see Queens of the Stone Age play at the Guvernment for FREE.

It was insane. They played lots of new stuff, lots of rare stuff, and really well too. Josh Homme rules!

Re: Favorite Concerts/Recent Shows...

Just back from seeing the Red Hot Chillis at Hampden park in Glasgow. Absolutely fabulous. Old Axie was right down the front, jumping about like a madman. Finished off with 'Give it away'....unbelieveable!! It was the first stadium concert I had been to for manys a year and I found the whole thing quite 'sanitised' and civilised, compared to some of the events I had been to years ago, and that was despite being hit on the back of the head with a glass (plastic!) full of beer and numerous amounts of plastic glasses of water. I mean...what kind of moron throws away their beer!! Water yes...but beer??? I remember being at a gig in the 70's and being hit by a 'Watneys party 7'...this was a large can which contained 7 pints of beer. The beer had been drunk and therefore I could understand the empty can being thrown...but to throw away your beer...totally unthinkable.

Re: Favorite Concerts/Recent Shows...

Last night my band played a show. There were supposed to be 5 bands playing but only 2 showed up. The venue was absolutely shitty. When we played our last song, we just jammed and dragged it out really long and then me and the bass player kept playing G over and over and over and over until they turned up the house music and turned the lights off, we kept going. They were really mean to us afer that and we're never going back to this place again. Waste of time.
