I got to meet his son after the show I was at. I didn't get to meet Robbie, though. Oh, but I was the first to get a handshake from Robbie when he was onstage, and got a pic(k?), too. That was cool.

Saw R.B. Morris last friday night. Hector Quirko was backing him up on guitar and vocals. Also, can't remember his name right off, but Hector's bass player sat in, as well.

Really like R.B., writes some great songs. Is kind of like a young J.J. Cale, with all the musical integrity. And Hector Q. is quite good also. Very expressive guitarist...

About one month and a half ago (though it seems like only several days ago) I went to go see YES, it turned out to be the best show I have ever seen! I sat in the 11th row where I could see all of the members of the band perfectly. From Squires outrageous BASS, to Howe's unique guitars, and WAKEMAN, what more needs to be says, it's WAKEMAN! WAKEMAN was worth the price of admission IMO. The sound was also great (it was a new venue). They played so many of their old favorites, because it was the original line-up from the early 70's (Anderson, Howe, Budford, Wakeman, Squire). While I was leaving the concert, if they had asked me for 40$, more I would have PAYED, because the show was so great. The 75$ I payed to get in was insufficient because of how satisfied I was. They played all of their best songs! SIBERAIAN KHATRU...HEART OF THE SUNRISE....AWAKEN.....YOURS IS NO DISGRACE---AHHHHHH! Just thinking about it makes me because I may not be able to see them agian (because one of them may croak).

BY the way I'm going to go see RUSH this Friday!! All day at my school on friday I will be distracted because of my exitment....RUSH!! !! !!!

That's cool...let us know how that turns out, if you have time.

oh, yeah, Chris Squire kicks- too, I really dig those fat riffs he peels off. Do you know what kind of bass/amp set-up was he playing through? And Wakeman...how cool.

Saw "Cheryl Renee's Blues Band" last night at the local music club. Was pretty cool. She is a very energetic entertainer, and one heck of a vocalist. Looks a little bit like a female Stevie Wonder (when she wears her dark sunglasses on stage), and the tones she gets out of her keyboards reminds me of "J. Mayall and the Bluesbreakers" somewhat. The crowd wasn't really a crowd at all, just a few folks actually, but the band got into a groove and played some very funky blues numbers. Really liked the way the bass player (solid bass lines) and Cheryl's keyboard bass lines matched up at times, giving it more depth of tone. And the drummer had a good sounding drum set, and kept a steady beat. The guitarist was good too, but could have used a bit more volume on his leads (actually, he was probably loud enough, but the rest of the band was a little too loud for the size of the room, and I know the soundman didn't want to start a 'volume war'). Also, wished he would have stuck with the Stratocaster, which seems to me to have a brighter/better tone for the blues than the Gibson he played most of the time.

Was down at the music club again last night to see Jim Hurst and Missy Raines play live. Jim is the IMBA (don't ask me what that stands for, because I forget, but is a prestigeous award) 2001 guitar player of the year, and Missy is the IMBA Bass player of the year the last 4 years in a row, going on 5. They are really great musicians, and just genuinely good people...even humble. They are billed as being "Bluegrass", and they can do that, but they do so much more, adding in jazz elements, which sounds great on the stand up bass. Missy is just mesmerizing to watch. And Jim...for a 'flatpicker' who doesn't use a pick, he sure can play. Magical. They did some 'new' stuff they are going to be recording soon, including a couple of Roger Rasnake songs, who happens to be a freind of mine, and a great song writer, also a Ed Snodderly tune, who I also know well. Roger's song about the "Hero" could make you cry. Was a pretty laid back scene, but a larger, more enthusiastic crowd. Good show.

Well one week ago I went to a RUSH concert when the performed here at the SHORELINE AMPETHEATRE, and it was simply amazing.
The sound quailty was awesome, and they spent so much money of visual effects which made the concert even more enjoyable.
That show could compare with just about any other great concert ever performed, I would pay 5 times more just to go see that concert again!
The set list for my concert was

SET 1: Tom Sawyer / Distant Early Warning / New World Man / Roll The Bones / Earthshine / Yyz / The Pass / Bravado / The Big Money / The Trees / Vital Signs / Natural Science

Intermission

SET 2: One Little Victory / Driven / Ceiling Unlimited / Secret Touch / Dreamline / Red Sector A / Leave That Thing Alone > Drum Solo / Resist / 2112! / Limelight / La Villa Strangiato / The Spirit Of Radio

ENCORE: By-tor And The Snow Dog > Cyngus X-1 > Working Man

My favourites of the Night were THE TREE'S, RED SECTOR A, 2112, and WORKING MAN. But all of the songs were performed flawlessly.

If you like Rush, and they are coming around to your area, SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITY!

Oh, and I went with YOUNGSTEINBECK...

I love that word, I use it and 'outrageous' very much when I talk to people. LoL. Flawless doesn't really mean 'Flawless' when it comes out of my mouth, it simply means "good".

That RUSH show was flawless, I saw YeS too, Jon messed up on the lyrics on Heart Of The Sunrise...it was funny. I also saw Tom Petty, that show was flawFULL, it could have been better, but i'm not complaining, I saw the guess who too, but thats just because the ticket was cheap, I can't say I am a huge guess who fan.
