| Brian Setzer Orchestra: Clutch Cargos-Pontiac:1995, State Theatre-Detroit:1996, Phoenix Center-Pontiac:1997, State Theatre-Detroit:1998, Pine Knob-Clarkston:2000 All Fantastic! Junior Brown: The Ark-Ann Arbor:1996 & 99. This guy Smoked, as usual. Paul McCartney: Palace-Auburn Hills:1990, Silverdome-Pontiac: 1993, Earls Court-London: 2 times in 1993, Palace-Auburn Hills: 2002. This last show was arguably the best concert I've seen. The song selection, the band, his voice were all in tip-top form. The man is a musical GIANT! Pink Floyd: Palace-Auburn Hills:1987?, Silverdome-Pontiac: 1988, Silverdome: 1993. Each of these shows were obviously nothing short of spectacular. I think I dug the latter one most though. Doyle Dykes: Community Bible Study-Waterford: 1999. I don't know if you're familiar with this guy but he's probably the most accomplished guitarist I've ever seen. Style is similar to Chet, Lawrence Juber. He covers all the bases amazingly well. That show made me realize what a guitar chump I really am. Oh well, press on. Yes: Fox Theatre-Detroit: 1998. WOW! My wife and I scored Suite seats that night. It's an old theatre with the pod-shaped seating along the sides about half way up between the floor and the ceiling. We managed to snag the first and only 2 seats right along the front edge. The seats made that show double enjoyable. The band was freakin' amazing. If memory serves, I don't believe Wakeman was there. I did see them at the Palace in '89 with the original lineup along with Trevor Rabin. That was an experience. Also, I saw Steve Howe by himself at a place called Harpos in Detroit. Unbelievable! I think the result of that tour produced a CD entitled 'Not necessarily acoustic', which is a lot of fun. You may laugh, but 1964-The Tribute is the Best Beatles Tribute band in the world. I mention them only because I've seen them several times and it's always an incredible show. They've only been together 3 times longer than the Beatles! LOL They're amazingly good. Those are probably the shows that stick out most in my memory of attending concerts. They've impacted me the most. |

| **** Axle Rose. **** him with a broomstick. **** the washed-up, show-cancelling, riot-causing, no-show mother****er. By the way, I wasn't at the one involving the riot. My tickets were for the Sunday show, the one that was cancelled as a result of the riot. |

| Some cool posts, good shows, would like to see McCartney, and some of the others mentioned (don't care anything about Axle--never liked his voice). Latest show for me was yesterday--"Hayseed Dixie". They decided to record a live cd in our little club. They were here for 2 nights (sat. and sun.). The saturday show, I am told, was total chaos...I witnessed the aftermath and it looked like the circus had come to town...so I decided to go to the club on sunday and help bounce 'rednecks' out the door, if nessessary. However, the Sunday show was much more laid back--the crowd, anyhow. As for the show itself...it was interesting...they did a pretty cool version of "Fat Bottom Girls" which surprised me, and of course, "Highway to Hell." Apparantly they have a KISS tribute (bluegrass) cd out, and I'm supposed to get a free copy in a couple of weeks. The lead singer was talking after the show and said Gene Simmons was sending him e-mails, trying to get a copy. It was an alright show, better than I expected.
