Final Cut Movie Update

I'm not sure that In The Flesh would fit so well. It doesn't have the same tone plus I think it may have too much relation to The Wall to be able to stand freely.

I just listened to The Empty Spaces and The Hero's Return together and I love it! I think It fits perfectly without any necessary mixing. It has the same power it did in the Wall but now The Hero's Return gives it an entirely new meaning. Thanks. I reccomd trying this yourself. it's fantastic!

Why don't you mix in something from Piper while you're at it? I think The Scarecrow would work well right after The Final Cut. Hell, I think Justin Timberlake's "Like I Love You" could fit in nicely after NNJ.

We're not adding anything that wouldn't fit. These songs were made in the same environment together. AMLOR came immediately after The Final Cut, TFC was made almost as a part of The Wall. Everything still flows. They're all on the same wavelength.

I would say The Wall and TFC are on the same wavelength, and if you stretched it, maybe Pros and Cons, but the sound of AMLoR is completely different, and even on musical grounds alone it would stand out as out of place...which would mess up the effect you're striving for.

I've got an update on the songlist. Here we go:

God Bless America [by Kate Smith] - This sounds very old, it must be from WAY before I was born and I think I can use parts of it with some disturbing visuals of American foreign policy to give a really good opening and then for The Post War Dream, you can hear someone changing channels so as a transition, he could change the channel on it. I want to use instrumental parts of it all over the movie as well because it sounds strangely propagandist.

I'm thinking about another propagandist, possibly WWII song to roll the credits with, just to give even more of a connection to the beginning. Any Ideas? I think Godbless America will fit very well in TFC like The Boy Santa Clause Forgot did in The Wall. Anyway, let me know what you think.

I just had an intriguing idea about Hey You in it's current position in my line up. Because in a relatively new environment, it carries a new meaning apart from it's original one in The Wall. While listening to it just now I realized that this could be something of an internal reflection within the main character (The father that comes back from war). Maybe a very good buddy of his died next to him and he's wondering why him and not me? He realizes on returning that it's not the same place he left, and he feels cheated somehow and by the end of the song, maybe he even feels jealous of his friend? Like he got the better half of the deal? And then to go into The Final Cut, he has a kind of breakdown, and then in Dogs of War he snaps and totally loses control, like in One Of My Turns from The Wall, and then leaves (Not Now John). I don't know yet. Just thought I'd post it before I forgot. I've been up all night cause I couldn't sleep, so I watched Farenheit 451. Maybe I'm sleep deprived or just a little too creative right now. Anyway, I'm going to go take a shower, maybe things will make more sense then.
