Whats going on with Fearless?

At the end of 'fearless' from 'meddle' it has a crowd singing 'you'll never walk alone' and then chanting 'everton' over and over. 'You'll never walk alone' is liverpool's song and everton are liverpool's main rivals so whats going on with fearless?

I always thought it was "Liverpool" that was being chanted! It doesn't sound much like Everton to me.

It sounds like everton to me, otherwise i wouldn't have posted this thread but it isn't absolutely clear

According to all sources it's Liverpool.

As additional info, Cliff Jones' book says that the chant has been recorded in 1970 and the match was Liverpool - West Ham Utd.

Does he say who won?

As already stated, You'll Never Walk Alone is the "official" song of Liverpool FC, and the crowd is aboslutely definitely chanting LIVERPOOL!

Dr. Cheese: Tsk tsk and tut tut. You know of course Liverpool thrashed the Hammers.

Of course, it would have been MUCH better had they been chanting ARSENAL!

Note: With regard to football (US: soccer) I don't even pretend to know what the hell I'm talking aboot.

That chanting has always annoyed me. But at least, I now know what it's all about.
Doc--in a situation like that, just claim L-pool won. Who knows? Everyone'll take your word for it, 'cause they're too lazy to look it up, anyway.

I was just thinking how interesting it would be to be able to hear everyone's voices (& accents). Yannis, Doc, Cows, Boab, Mother, Fixx, D_F_F, Piper, etc. etc. Byron, do you talk like a Brit now, or do you retain the 'ol So Cal-speak?
