Question for Beatles fans in Britian.

I don't live in Britain, but I think I have an answer to your question. When Capitol Records decided to sign the Beatles in early 1964, they did things oddly, to get more product out. Fact: 1. The Beatles rarely released singles on their original British albums. These include everything from "From Me to You" to "Hey Jude". These songs were usually just released on singles while the Beatles were around, and not released on original albums that they put out in Britain. Hence, Capitol would get the tapes for these singles when they were released - AND put them on U.S. Beatles albums. Since Capitol wanted more product, one original album (say, Beatles for Sale) and a handful of singles would be split up into TWO albums. For more info (more than I have the patience to explain) then go here: http://members.aol.com/egweimi/btls/caplps.htm You'll see that the CDs you have now are actually the correct, British releases, the way the Beatles meant to put them out. Capitol did a good deal of butchering to the albums to get more product.

So.........where can I get songs that George Martin did on albums like Help! and A Hard Day's Night? I've looked high and low for these and have only found the Hard Day's Night tracks, I'm looking for CD quality versions of the Help! tracks by George Martin. And why were certain songs taken off of albums like Rubber Soul? I still don't understand why I've Just Seen A Face was taken off, that song simply rules.

It's all very complicated. The Ken Thorne tracks on the Capitol Help! LP haven't been released on CD, to my recollection. I'm wondering where you found the Hard Day's Night tracks... As for I've Just Seen a Face, that's on the British version of the Help! soundtrack, where it was originally released (if you didn't know that already). I personally like to hear the albums as they were meant to be released - the British albums. But to each their own.

Be careful, Shane, you're going the right way to becoming expatriot. Next thing you'll know is you will have spent 20 years in Britain speaking with a mid-Atlantic accent and finding most things American terribly embarrassing.

I just know a lot about the Beatles! Seriously! Yeah watch me end up in Britain. I won't be surprised if I do.

i always hated how the american lps were like that. they did the same to some of the rolling stones albums and only now are they being fixed with the new remasters. and evil tyrant. by george martin tracks did you maybe mean the ones for yellow submarine? if you did then those can be found on the older cd version of the yellow submarine soundtrack. if that is not what you meant then just ignore that.
