Yeah, but I felt that they'd kinda moved on from the original (brilliant) premise by that point, rendering the entire titular series almost obsolete, in retrospect.

A good idea, taken to it's logical progression, then left, without really being fully explored or improved upon, which is a shame.

Of course, there is another school of thought that says you can only cram so many things up a woman's arse before it gets boring.

True.

But of course it wasn't only the arse. They managed to somehow use a woman's feet in almost every episode as well.

Time, now come on guys if you have not heard those idea's expressed elsewhere you are living in a little cave. Comfortably Numb, well lets see, I can list dozens of books on my bookshelf that have those idea's expressed. I am not completly shocked by the lyrics because of this, they are good idea's, but again, borrowed ideas. For me, it is the music that makes Pink Floyd so good. , don't get me wrong, the lyrics are great, and for people who have not been exposed to those idea's in other forms of art it must be really good, but for those of us who HAVE read the books, well it is sometimes repetitive.
Trawling through older threads, I found this lame-o post and thought that this sort of thing was exorcised by the goode sarah.

Could it be that tarkus and his co-hort have reappeared? :o

Byron, I'd like to add that the post in question was ripe with arrogance. I have read the books, and still enjoy PF. But hey guy, whatever, if trying to sound smart beyond your years is your thing, go ahead.

Yes indeed, NNJ, thank you for the addendum.

What was sadly missed, perhaps, was the recognition of the universal themes of all humankind, and though musicians may or may not have read a particular book, they may still have the ability to express well worn themes shared by all humans.

All music, for that matter, all "art" is just copying what prehistoric humans discovered. Moreover, this art was probably copied from nature itself.

Not many books can evoke the same emotional response in me as, say, Wish You Were Here, or Childhood's End, etc.

Lameness abounds (even in this post),
BoaB
