i can't understand how this album could get knocked...do you folks not remember that it was a GOLD album...it went gold...how many of Rick Wright or Dave Gilmour solo albums went gold?

Um...I may be stating the bleedin' obvious but, this Pink Floyd fan site is a place for members to freely state their thoughts and opinions without first having to agree with the majority. Every member may also disagree with as many or as few other members on any matter allowed for discussion...there are not many prohibited.

So, you have and are entitled to your opinion, and others will have and are entitled to theirs whether in agreement with yours or otherwise.

I personally like Pros and Cons of Hitch-hiking - I saw it Live after all - and care not one jot whether others here agree or disagree with me.

Get over it...move on.

actually David Gilmour had a MUCH MORE succesful SOLO career than Roger Waters. Roger waters had ONE CD that went gold (his other two, faliures) BOTH of the CD's the Gilmour made went GOLD...so he has TWO gold CD...you do the math...what's better 2 gold CD's or 1?

(But I gotta admit I like Roger Water's stuff MUCH MUCH MUCH more)

That's not true. The Wall: Live in Berlin went platinum almost immediately. Roger's "Amused to Death" did not receive Gold in the USA but sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide. Both Dave's "About Face" and Roger's "Pros and Cons" did about the same (they both managed to achieve gold status about 10 years after the fact), but Dave's first album did very poorly indeed. Rick and Nick, I don't think managed to even dent the charts.

Of course, that's not any way to judge the albums at all. I ADORE Pros and Cons, I think it's Roger's best post-Wall album.
