Hicks, someone earlier stated that everything is alright in the end of the album, so I was addressing that, not the realism/pessimism deal.

But i'm inclined to agree with floydwright here, even though I agree that the masses often behave like dogs, pigs, and sheep. It does shed some light on some things. Waters, however, just takes it to the extreme

From looking at your signature and title, it seems you may be slightly pessimistic, which is why you see animals as realistic.

Well back onto the topic, I think this may be one of Pete's best CD's, been hard to take it out of my CD player for the past couple of weeks. New sound, but allright.

i'm still not decided whether or not i like it...there are parts I dig, but also parts I do not. It's no OVO, that's for sure.

Okay, I must admit the Pakistanian singing at the end of Signal To Noise is a bit off....but besides that....actually I think that is one of the best songs on the CD, but, it might have been better without the yelling.

just some noises, such as in the first song, that were incredibly horrifying.

I LOVE Darkness, like my favorite song on the CD, sure the first time I heard it, it almost gave me a Heart Attack....it starts off quiet then........

BANG!!!!!!!!!!!! But it's cool, lyrics are good.

maybe that's my problem, I didn't listen to lyrics closely enough...generally the sound of a musical piece has to grow on me before i listen to lyrics. i think.

This album is great Lyrically, musically a bit differant, but still good. OVO is a great album I agree with you Wing, but his best..hmm...

I love all of Peter Gabriel, including his stuff with Genesis, Phil Collins, well, BLAH!

There was an entire episode of South Park that made fun of Phil Collins. South Park, at first glance, may just seem like a dimented adult humor show, but it actually has political messages that are not only funny and exaggerated, but true to an extent.

It was an Oscar, and it wasn't socio-political humor. It was cause his song beat the "Blame Canada" song for the Best Song Oscar.
