Re: ART anyone?

BACK to the topic:

I like a lot of surreallistic/fantastic art, I love the Spectrum books that come out with all the fantastic paintings, sculptures, etc. But to pick favorite artists, um, Dali, Escher, Giger, Frazetta, Howe, Lee, the individual who did the art for Stephen King's The Wastelands (Phil Hale, I think, but I'm not sure), Royo, um, and others who's names I have forgotten. Oops.

Re: ART anyone?

I have always enjoyed the work of Dali, the Dali museum in St Pete Fl. is just a trip.. I go every time I'm in town.

Also, I love the fact the he hung out with Alice Cooper in the 70's and 80's.

Being a bit of a photographer myself I really like "Art Photography" especially in the world of portraiture. My faves are..

Annie Liebovits
Herb Ritts
Richard Avedon
Skrebneski
Timothy Greenfield-Sanders
Robert Maplethorp

just to name a few.

Re: ART anyone?

Recently have gotten into American Abstract Expressionism, particularly Colour Field painting.

Rothko and Newman exude genius.

Re: ART anyone?

I find Garfunkle's work a bit too emotional, perhaps to the point of being effeminate... But Carney's works, in particular his collaborations with Gleason, were sheer genius.
