hey look at the floyd influenced artwork I picked up.

hey I just got it in the mail today... really cool print of a surrealist artwork heavily influenced by floyd... the original oil painting had sold for almost $400... I didn't have that kinda cash, so I got the next best thing, a print of it on canvas... the artist is making 200 prints available...

check it out:
Pic of the Print
measures 11 x 16.5 inches and came gallery wrapped... looks great hangin on the wall above my bed.

there are 17 references in here to floyd and their music according to the artist... some really obvious and others not so obvious... can ya find em all??

That is some unique art work there. Looks like some masterful surrealism there; I still can't figure out what the artist is trying to say with that picture..I can see the PINK FLOYD influence in there though!

I wonder if you had a way to contact the author, maybe he could give us an authorization so we could offer that as a wallpaper here on APFFN. I think it is just brilliant. I just love surrealism!

Wow! This painting is amazing. Where can you buy a print from? How much would it cost? Has anyone found the 17 references? I can only find about 7 or 8

I don't know...I thought it wasn't awful, but I didn't really like it all that much. Seemed very derivative from Dali and focused mainly on The Wall and Gerald Scarfe's imagery--a bit unoriginal.

i agree , it is also focusing on the dark side of pink floyd , like where's wywh? or dsotm <---(its more lightful than the wall anyways) i think they should have had some more stuff in there from the bright side of pink floyd

I'm guessing that the central theme of the painting is about death......honestly it looked like something out of DOOM at first glance

well ya the little pyramid and the diomand with syd in it , but what i'm saying is that there focus on animals and the wall mostly i think. with the wall in there and all the flying pigs it just takes up the whole picture .

When you start to learn about art in school, you'll see that you must look at everything, because even one little stroke of a brush, may change the meaning of the whole picture...

oh i'm in art class , i've been taking it for 2 years , and had classes in school , from kindergarten to 4th grade,. i understand that , but i was just commenting on how much they focussed on those 2 albums , like they made it the BIG thing

like when u remeber it are u going to remeber the little sauser , or the huge flying pigs , or the huge wall room ?(not trying to attack u or anything,......
