Trashing one hundred albums

I'm pretty sure someone else posted the link of this page sometime in the past, but I won't check the whole forum to have thi suspicion confirmed.

So here the link: http://jaguaro.org/feature/archives/000007.html#000007

The guys of this site (jaguaro.org) "feel that it's imperative to tell you that we are offended by your CD collection", and their purpose is "to offer you and the rest of the world nothing more than the gift of good taste", and they want to do this by listing 100 albums you should not have in your collection.

The site is funny, I'm pretty sure of this (even though I won't check, I just read that page) cause no one would waste his/her time writing such a load of personal opinions and hope ppl out there give a shit.

i respect the idea, naturally, but not the choices. i'd like to see a band so tight that even they couldn't disagree with them.

I don't disagree with Dark Side, aftert all, tastes vary, but the reasoning didn't make much sense. I thought some of it was quite funny tho.

Could you put Uri geller up there too, along with MJ's latest Dr. Frankenstein, please?

The amount of crap they did not include on that list is disappointing considering they did include Dark Side of the Moon, Let it Be & Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Beatles, and Physical Graffiti by Led Zepplin. The concept was funny but some of the choices were not.

maybe it was just a poke in the ribs, you know, saying we shouldn't take ourselves and likewise our musical tastes so seriously, and possibly even musicians shouldn't take themselves to seriously as well. i still maintain the theory we should like what we like for no good reason and that be the end of it.

That is a valid point. My initial reaction, though, was to defend my favorites tooth and nail. After that outburst, I relaxed. Looking at it now a couple of hours later, it is far more light and humorous.
