Re: Best version of Careful with that axe Eugene

It's hard to pick one favorite version. The Ummagumma and Pompeii Eugenes are great, but I also like the Car 51 version on ZP too because it's really eerie.

For ROIO versions, Embro San Diego 1971 and Stranger Than Fiction are both good and so is the Interstellar Encore which was already mentioned. I also enjoy the version from Libest Spacement Monitor (although the Mooed Music is from the same show I think, but has slightly better sound quality in my opinion).

Re: Best version of Careful with that axe Eugene

The best version for me is the one seen on the "superstars in concert" video...

I think it was taken from Sydney 1971....

anyone else seen this amazing Floyd footage????

Re: Best version of Careful with that axe Eugene

again the best version of this song in my opinion...is the one that featured on the superstars in concert video...A floyd performance taken from Sydney 1971.

I feel this footage is Floyd at their best.

does anyone know if it appears on a bootleg???

Re: Best version of Careful with that axe Eugene

the ones on pompeii and ummagumma are almost identical, and i like them both better than the studio version, which is not bad at all. i like the somewhat slower bass line in the live versions(or at least it seems slower)
