| Re: Best version of Careful with that axe Eugene Was it on the usual key or transposed up a note? If transposed to the key of E, it was "Come in Number 51, Your Time Is Up" from Zabriskie Point.

| Re: Best version of Careful with that axe Eugene The live side is just terrific and the studio side shows interesting explorations of each of the band members (less Syd, of course). I enjoy the album but not everyone seems to like the studio explorations. These explorations were necessary, though, before creation of great Floyd works to come.

| Re: Best version of Careful with that axe Eugene The European bootlegs from about 70 or 71 are pretty choice for live versions of this tune, more often than not segueing into 'Green is the colour'

Anyone for a round of "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave Grooving with a Pict"? You've got to admit, it's kind of catchy. ![]()

| Re: Best version of Careful with that axe Eugene Well so do I. I would like to have seen the production process for that song. It must have been tedious sinking up all those tape recordings at fast speeds to sound like such fury little animals.

Very true. Live in Rome 1971 is awesome. Anyway I think Come In Number 51 is an excellent studio version of Careful.

Any chance of mentioning contacts for scoring those bootlegs, have a David Bowie one and it rocks hard.
