I hear your pain brother, I went through the same thing in 1987.
But I can offer you this if you have not already heard. Just the other night a fabulous band came to Chicago, they are called the Austrlain Pink Floyd. I know they are a tribute band, but holy shit are they worth your time. I was blown away. They are on a U.S tour right now, thenon to Germany. The website is aussiefloyd.com. Check it out, they have played for David Gilmour himself and he was impressed(check the news part of there forum). And since your from Australia, this should be very accesible for you.

I know the feeling. My father used to work for Columbia Records and brought home "Wish You Here" I was about 8 years old.

He was like, here son there is this interesting band called Pink Floyd, and we are pressing their album so here you go here's a free copy. At first it freaked me out...I mean I was a little kid...guy on the cover on fire....people with no face and arms...scary Welcome To The Machine song...you know.

Then after a few listens I became less scared and more intrigued. I thought the music, lyrics, album covers, everything...was like so mysterious.

I have been hooked ever since I am now 34 years old and I listen to Floyd at least a few times a week. It's just something that is always in my car on my drive to and from work.

I think I need help...lol.
