rare song help, if you're not busy

Hi. I come here often, but never really post. I'm not a message board kinda guy. So, first post.

Anyway, I've been a Floyd fan for as long as I can remember, but I've just recently been able to start exploring their rarer stuff. I have the Total Eclipse boot here and I was wondering if someone who was bored could go through and gimme a list of what each song eventually became (I know not all of them morphed into a later song used on an album). I know a good bit of them, but it would be nice to have a comprehensive list of sorts. I haven't been able to find any good rare song lists on the net. Could I maybe be directed?

Anyway, here's what's on the collection:

Disc 1
1. Arnold Layne
2. Candy and a Currant Bun
3. See Emily Play
4. Flaming
5. The Scarecrow
6. The Gnome
7. Mathilda Mother
8. Scream Thy last Scream
9. Vegetable Man
10. Apples and Oranges
11. Prow R, Toc H
12. Jugband Blues
13. Nick's Boogie
14. It Would Be So Nice
15. Julia Dream
16. Let There Be More Light
17. Murderistic Women
18. Massed Gadgets of Hercules
19. Point Me at the Sky
20. Baby Blue Shuffle in D Minor

Disc 2

21. The Embryo
22. Green is the Color
23. Careful With That Axe Eugene
24. The Narrow Way - Part 1
25. Biding My Time (Work)
26. Oneone / Fingal's Cave
27. Rain In the Country
28. The Violence Sequence
29. If
30. Cymbaline
31. Atom Heart Mother

Disc 3

32. Blues
33. Breathe
34. On the Run
35. The Great Gig In the Sky
36. Money
37. Brain Damage / Eclipse
38. Shine On You Crazy Diamond
39. Raving and Drooling
40. You've Gotta Be Crazy

Disc 4

41. Echoes
42. Pigs On the Wing - Part I & II
43. Comfortably Numb
44. When the Tigers Broke Free
45. Mother
46. What Shall We Do Now?
47. Bring the Boys Back Home
48. Outside the Wall
49. The Hero's Return - Part I & II
50. Run Like Hell
51. On the Turning Away
52. Money

That's all. You don't have to help if you don't want. Just curious and hoping, that's all. Hope everyone is well. Oh, and Animals is the best Floyd album (not to discount Syd's songwriting in the slightest). Later on.

-Chris

Most of those songs didn't become anything else. "Murderistic Women" is the band's first attempt at a live version of "Careful With That Axe Eugene". "Massed Gadgets" is usually a bootleg name for any live version of "A Saucerful Of Secrets". Tracks 26-28 are real outtake songs from the 1970 "Zabriskie Point" soundtrack. The others are basically as you see them, just in rare vinyl or dusty vault tape form.

Re: rare song help, if you're not busy

Don't have the booklet that usually comes with the package?

Here is a brief history about some of the songs that were transformed or called something else at one time.

Candy and a Currant Bun was originally titled "Let's Roll Another One" the lyrics were changed due to the obvious drug inferences.

Scream Thy last Scream was also entitled "Scream Thy Last Scream Old Woman With A Casket" and the shorter "Old Woman With A Casket".

Pow R. Toc H. was also called "The Pink Jungle" in the "Man and Journey" concerts.

Nick's Boogie is an extended instrumental and basically a variation of "Interstellar Overdrive."

Murderistic Women was an earlier, shorter version of "Careful With That Axe, Eugene".

Baby Blue Shuffle in D Minor was the working title for what would later become "The Narrow Way - Part 1."

Biding My Time was first titled "Work and Afternoon."

The Violence Sequence or Violent Sequence is a instrumental piece made for the film "Zabriskie Point", but not used. You can recognize parts of several songs, including "Heart Beat, Pig Meat" and what would later become "Us And Them." Another part of the song was later played live and called "Corrosion."

Raving And Drooling was played live in the mid-70's, then rewritten and retitled to become "Sheep".

You've Gotta Be Crazy was played live in the mid-70's, then rewritten and retitled to become "Dogs".

"Work" is actually a separate piece; "Biding My Time" was only the "Afternoon" portion of the suite.

Must of accidently hit quote instead of edit. But, I changed it. I also noticed the original post was like almost 6 years ago.
