| I've come up with a few theories for the four lights on the cover of the Division Bell: 1. Four lights = four dots in p . u . l . s . e? 2. I notice there are four symbols on the spine of p . u . l . s . e, which could correspond to the four lights: the eclipse, the pyramids, the naked man's head, and the spotlights. 3. I remember an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation in which Captain Picard was being tortured by the Cardassians. They had a method of torture which would involve showing the captor four lights, asking them how many lights there were, and when they answered four, they'd zap the captor with pain and tell them that it was three lights, even though they can see four. It was a test of character to see how long before they'd give in. Any thoughts? I'm still into this whole Publius Enigma thing: something tells me there's some kind of meaning behind all this. Call me an obsessed fan reading too much into meaningless artwork, but I really think Publius was on to something.

| Re: Four Lights Dave said earlier this year that the Publius thing was a load of horse shit created by the record company to sell more records. Sorry to burst your bubble.

| Re: Four Lights From Storm's book, "Mind Over Matter - The Images of Pink Floyd", p. 137: "But, God, it was worth it. Despite freezing our nuts and getting crazy bored waiting for the weather to improve and the sun to come out, the end results were creamy. And the car lights or red flags used to indicate the lines of communication, the talking of profile head to profile head worked well, as did the positioning of the distand cathedral." Thus, the four lights represent communication, a major theme of TDB. ![]()

| Re: Four Lights Even if Publius was a fake, stuff like that fascinates me. I think people should think deeper into something. The light mean SOMETHING, it's amazing how much thought goes into every little thing, just look at the simpsons! |
