Question question regarding bootlegs

Hi,

I have some old Floyd bootlegs which I'd like to sell but it is quite apparent that I cannot list them on eBay (or even in this forum).

Can anybody advise as to where I might be able to sell them? They are mainly vinyl with a couple of CDs. I am mindful of the copyright issue of selling bootlegs but I think they ought to go to a new home.

I am keeping all my Syd rarities and bootlegs mind!

Thanks in advance,

John B

I'm not being funny but why would anyone want to buy your bootlegs when there are so many trading sites/communities where you can get them for nothing? The sale of unofficial recordings is actively discouraged and positively frowned on!!

That sounds very odd to me - I presume you're talking about copies of original bootlegs in MP3 format or something similar?

Why is the sale of original vinyl bootlegs frowned upon? It certainly wasn't when I purchased the damned things, in fact we sought them out at record fairs.

What's changed?

The internet is what has changed things, people can communicate, and therefore trade things, much more easily and quickly now. The vast majority of bootlegs (or RoIO's) are copies obviously but they are done in shn format which is a lossless format, as opposed to mp3, and so the sound quality is the same as the original recording - not that tinny mp3 shit (as someone here described it).
I'm up to about a dozen now and I haven't paid for any of them. Of course they are all distributed on cd so vinyl collectors may be interested in what you're flogging, I dunno where you'd offload them though. The sale of them is frowned on by the trading community simply because there is no need - why buy when you can trade?
