Question best rare songs
what are some of the best rare floyd songs? i'm trying to put together a compilation of rare songs and i can't fit em all!

I frankly doubt more than 80 minutes... :o Unless you include alternate versions, that is.

Some people think albums like UMMAGUMMA, OBC, ATOM HEART MOTHER, SAUCERFUL ect, are RARE I guess.

Yeah, I know that list but it includes alternate titles, fakes, alternate versions, etc. How many versions of Careful With That Axe Eugene do you really want in your album? There are roughly 20 truly unreleased songs.

Excluding songs which have been reworked and/or released with other titles (as Raving And Drooling, for example):

Scream Thy Last Scream
Sunshine
Vegetable Man
Moonhead (Trip On Mars)
Hollywood
Seabirds
Corrosion
Oneone
Fingal's Cave
Behold The Temples Of Light

Keep in mind that I am excluding songs like The Violent Sequence which became Us And Them but probably you should include in your compilation because it's different enough from its final version. The same for the Mortality Sequence. I am also excluding solo Barrett stuff which is included in the Hyperbase list, and songs from Zabriskie Point which are indeed "rare" but have been released on the 2CD set edition of the soundtrack. Finally, you could also want to include stuff from La Carrera Panamericana which is "unreleased" on CD format. And please keep in mind that I could be forgetting something... obviously.

Almost Gone is The Last Few Bricks and so it is released on ITAOT The Wall Live.
Sunshine (Experiment) is in my list, it's an outtake from Piper.
Beechwoods, yes it's apparently an early Floyd song but I think that there are no recordings available of this one.

If you are a completist, all of them (the new ones I mean). I have not the VHS and I didn't managed to get them all from internet yet, though.
