Question Is there anybody out there? on VHS??

Sorry if this is an obvious question or if it has been covered before (I have looked in other threads!), but as I wasn't even born when they were touring the full live show of The Wall I would really like to see it.

Listening to ITAOT it sounds amazing, and seeing all the pics and stuff from the gigs, it must've been quite an experience.

Did anyone videotape the thing though? Is there a copy of it available to buy? Or if I pay someone can they send me a copy?

I would be eternally greatful....

There is an awfully grainy version of it out there, illegal bootleg (RoIO for those fooling themselves) not worth buying.

And there IS official footage, but Roger Waters owns it and doesn't want it released (yet).

You can download it from WinMX (vcd).

Cheers DC, have to head that way.

Surely Waters must realise the money he can make out if it though? They only did 20 or so shows didn't they, so it must be a barely seen thing.

You would've thought that with all the Pink Floyd merchandise about, and with the Wall live on CD out, he would've released the video too? Was he not happy with it? Or did he want to erase the other Floydians from it?!

Apparently the problem is the mediocre quality of the film.

Yeah, I downloaded it and put it on cd but the picture quality leaves a lot to be desired, a lot of the time the screen is mostly black and all you can see are some of the lights. I reckon it's still worth having though.

Yeah, Ive got a copy of it on VHS, but everyone is right, the video is terrible.

I think it is an "Official" recording, because it has opening credits and the "Pink Floyd The Wall Live" is in the "Official" Wall font type text.

Its worth having if youre a hardcore collector, but I would not suggest purchasing it.

Id offer to make you a copy, but I would hate to see it degrade yet another generation....I suggest WinMX or KazaaLite to find it...

yes, about 2 wall shows are recorderd. One at Earls Court and one in New York.

They filmed the concert with professional equipment, but they used the wrong equipment or something. Anyway the tapes are too dark. That's why they never released it.

You can get a nice impression off what the Wall show must have been, but it's not very good quality.

if you want some screenshots, email me at geensen@multiweb.nl

I have a few bootlegs if you would consider a trade...I dont have my collection cataloged or anything...

I know I have:

Audio:

Welcome to the Machine (first time SOYCD was played live I think, before it was ever released. Its all of WYWH, in order)
Mutinae (Modena, Italy, 1994 tour)
Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking (while Eric Clapton was touring with RW)
A show from the Animals tour...cant remember which

Several others that I cant remember right now....

Video:
San Diego ( Jack Murphy Stadium, April 14, 1994)
Atlanta (Bobby Dodd Stadium, May 4, 1994)
East Rutherford, NJ (Giants Stadium, July 18, 1994)
Oakland CA (Alameda County Stadium April 12, 1994)

Id love to see your copy of The Wall at Earls Court....lemme know if we can arrange something....
