They do have great stuff from all eras, but they were much more consistent and interesting before the 80s. Albums like A King of Magic and the Miracle still have decent songs, but nowhere near as many, and the production of them is shithouse.

Innuendo is at least on par with their best albums of the 70s.

I like Hot Space a lot more after seeing so much of it live.

I myself am just a causual Queen fan not one of my faves but I don't hate them. Some excellent song though. Isn't Bohemian Rhapsody like number two on the list of greatest rock 'n' roll songs at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Musuem? I was there a long time ago and can't remember but I know it was up there.

I think 'Don't Stop Me Now' is quite amazing. 'Bohemian Rhapsody' is incredibly overrated.

Yesterday I bought my tickets for the Queen + Rodgers concert in Milan. Heh, I don't know how it's going to be, but it could well be worth. I've seen Roger Taylor live and it's been a great concert, big fun indeed, so even if I don't know Paul Rodgers that much, I'm sure that Brian and Roger can make a more than decent show. We'll see.

Re: Queen....

i grew up with queen, they were THE group for me from the moment i heard their 1st lp.
if i had to choose, i'd say i prefer their first 3 lps, with queen 2 being my fave, but i love all their stuff.
although they played lots of different styles, brian's guitar always kept me interested, his solos, orchestrations, and power chords.

i'm really surprized that someone finds bo rhap overrated.
when it woz released, everyone woz talking about it, most people just couldn't believe it, it woz very strange, but very good too.
i can't think of a similar song before or after it came out?

Re: Queen....

Great band, great musicians and good songs. What I like about Queen is their variety though I have to agree with Parry and many others, the 70's albums are the best ones. There are so many Queen songs that I like that I guess I have no favourites, it depends on the day: Spread Your Wings, Seaside Rendez-Vous, My Melancholy Blues, The Prophet Song, Hammer to Fall, Somebody to Love... Fucking good band!
