You forgot:

Who Wants To Live Forever
Ogre Battle
(The lyrics on) Put Out The Fire

There's probarly loads more. I think that they wrote about all that because they wanted to make a more powerful hotter image after people thought they were made of flowers, (Queen I artwork). If you think about it, many of those are aggressive, fast songs.

i still don't understand why he didn't get that fixed. It certainly wouldn't have put him back too much.

Queen had a pretty wide spectrum of song writing. I mean, Fred was all about camp and ballads and the like...he was a huge Jethro Tull fan. Roger Taylor was a sci-fi freak, John Deacon was more so proned to the disco shift than anyone else in the band, and Brian May, well, he was just confusing Thus, like A Night at the Opera, you get songs ranging from hard-edged Death On Two Legs and Prophet's Song to ballads like You're My Best Friend and '39, to just downright strange I'm In Love With My Car. And then, yes, crap Sweet Lady.

Queen were a great band...very experimental. Alot of their best songs are the ones that are buried deep within their albums and never got any radio play. My personal favorite album was Queen II it was very clever. Most of their albums were really good with the exception of the stuff they did in the early 80's. By the way I was in London about a week ago and I checked out a musical called "We Will Rock You" which is based on the music of Queen. It's at the Dominion theatre in central London. I thought the dialogue was cheesy but the special effects and music made up for the bad acting and script.

If you put Freddy Mercury in these crapy "American idol" shows...He would blow them all away!

Then he bends over and says "There Talking outta here!"..but then.. "We're never going to break up...not until we dead!"..Its sooo sad

Whoever says that Queen is not good has not listened to their album Sheer Heart Attack.

I just recently got the DVD, and it is indeed a kick ass show. The cd was actually the first album of theirs I ever bought. When Freddie says, "We're going to be together until we ****ing will die, I'm sure of it," you can see a shot of Brian mouthing, "Okay," and smiling. It's suspected that around this time Freddie knew he had aids and in so many words told the band this would be his last tour. In the extras, Brian recalls Freddie quelling petty fights that broke out on tour by saying he wouldn't be doing this much longer. The band never even told their families about Freddie's condition.

anyway, on a side note, I watched Fox's "Performing As..." television show on which contestants dress up like their favourite performers and sing in competition. The Freddie Mercury look-alike lost to Tina Turner in the final round. I was pissed, to say the least.

Just watched a TV documentary about Queen, and really liked it. Queen are cool. Another good sample of two (great) song writers working together (Mercury/May). Oh, and the other two are cool

One of the things I like about Queen is that all 4 members wrote songs which contributed to their musical diversity. I think most would agree that Mercury/May were the 2 best songwriters in the band. But Taylor wrote (and sang as Mercury/May did) some really good songs too. Even John Deacon (the Ringo Starr of Queen talent wise) wrote a few hits like "another one bites the dust" and "you're my best friend" although I don't personally care for either of those songs very much.

i don't know if it's their best, but certainly a damn fine one. just really different from their usual. In fact, once John Deacon was drinking rather heavily at a small gathering of friends, and the album was put on...John said it was really good and asked who did it, seriously not knowing.

sorry to sound fanatical.
