Queen....

Anyone here like Queen. They are a different style from Floyd but are truly wonderful. My two favourite groups are definatley Floyd and Queen.

I like Queen. They released a lot of mediocre material and even a couple of crap album (i.e. Hot Space) but they also recorded great stuff. Freddie mercury was a wonderful vocalist and unparalleled frontman. Brian May and Roger Taylor were (are) excellent musicians and songwriters. My favourite and recommended albums should be Sheer Heart Attack, A Night At The Opera and Innuendo.

Hot Space is not so crappy imo, cool cat is the only shitty thing in it, all the rest is quite interesting.

It was a disco album... I don't know, frankly I hate it. A couple of decent songs but really nothing more IMO. And obviously Under Pressure, OK... I always forget it's on Hot Space!!!

Queen have some pretty good songs. (Although they also have some pretty bad songs!) They wouldn't be in my top ten favourite bands but I do like to listen to them now and again.

Queen was sort of my stepping stone to Pink Floyd. Their first ten albums were very decent. Hot Space was interesting, especially Action This Day, Put Out the Fire, and Life Is Real, and of course Under Pressure is classic. Anything past that is hit and miss for me - there are some beautiful songs, and some catchy, poppy ones for what they were worth. And I kind of dug, Cool Cat seriously, though, I did.

Queen were an excellent live band and big butch Fred was a superb showman but I could never sit down and just listen to them.
Don't ask me why!
