Unfortunately there are very few good horror movies, the vast majority is pure crap, first and foremost the 80s splatters; my favourites are:

The Shining
Nightmare On Elm Street
The Abominable Dr Phibes
The Omen
Dracula (F. F. Coppola)

But for sure I am forgetting something.

Plus, obviously, all the black & white classics from Dracula to The Mummy.

Hmmm....it's not really a horror movie, more of a ghost story but the Sixth Sense really scared me! *blushes, furiously* It is one of my favourites, as is The Shining. I recently saw "The Others" which turned out better than I expected. (Again, more ghost than horror.)

PearlWaters: you're not the only one! I am exactly the same! My boyfriend laughs at me whenever we watch horror films together as I am cowering under my seat! I do love scary movies though.

Well, I can't stand the site of blood, well even fake blood makes me crazy...one time I even fainted. Even the talk of blood makes me shiver....:shivering: So I don't watch many scary movies, but I voted for Other, I think Titanic has to be the most frightning, I mean 3 hours of complete Bull, now that scary!
