Wouldn't it be funny if we just scared off TUGGUMS. A single post user, never to be heard from again - all on account of wanting to know the name of a reggae band that butchered "The Machine." LOL

Red face welcome to machine reply and immaturity

well I"m really impressed at the speed at which I recd a reply to a legitimate ques.Remember nerds if the music were at all not up to the standards of R.Waters I doubt much if he would have given the rights for it to be performed. As to whether or not you twerps like it!, well each has his own tastes, I try to embrace all.
As far as the dweeb scaring me off I don"t think so Having done a tour 66-67 while most of you little shits were still home sucking mommies tit ,or not even thought of. Anyway if anyone would like to reply to a legitimate question an answer would be greatly appreciated.

Well, TUGGUMS, I may well have been a "little shit" but by the time you had "done a tour 66-67" I had long since ceased suckling my mother's breast, if I ever did. And I thought your generation was much more mellow than your post woulld have us believe, more the "Peace, Love and Understanding" types. Chill dude. (c.1990's)

The nerds, twerps and dweebs may not have known the answer to your question, but they may have thought such a cover was too much for them to bear. I did, but didn't know which slur I should claim, besides the "little shit" one.

Anyway, I had a browse round but could only find Wyclef Jean's cover of WYWH, but that one hasn't got a strictly "reggae" sound, so this may not be the one you heard.

Fledgling Floydian,
Byron

p.s. Oh cripes! I forgot to welcome you. So, welcome.

I can't remember ever hearing the reggae cover of "Welcome to the Machine," but it reminds me of a recent heavy metal cover of "Have a Cigar." I thought it was a little too harsh and that it hid much of the song's true sound. If given the choice, I would much rather listen to a reggae cover of a PF song than that particular heavy metal cover. Still, keeping in mind all the sound effects dubbed into "Welcome to the Machine," I find it difficult to imagine what a reggae sort of cover would sound like. It would certainly be worth listening to.

I heard the cover of Run Like Hell from the now defunct band Kittie like a year ago and it had it's good part when the girl was singing cus she has a pretty nice voice but the instrumental metal part of it totally destroyed the song....people need to stop covering Floyd, it's way too much of a daunting task to accomplish if you ask me
