George Gordon Noel Byron, 6th Baron Byron, was born 22 January 1788 in London and died on 19 April 1824 in Missolonghi, Greece. He was among the most famous of the English 'Romantic' poets; his contemporaries included Percy Shelley and John Keats. He was also a satirist whose poetry and personality captured the imagination of Europe. His major works include Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage (1812-18) and Don Juan (1819-24). He died of fever and exposure while engaged in the Greek struggle for independence. Byron Quote of the Day: All are inclined to believe what they covet, from a lottery-ticket up to a passport to Paradise,--in which, from description, I see nothing very tempting. (Journal, Nov. 17, 1813)

I want to thank thehammers for starting this thread - I've known Byron for over 20 years, but we lost touch some time back & if an idle Google search (not the first one, by any means) hadn't popped up this board I'd still be wondering what happened to him. When I looked through his posts to see if there were any clues to whether this was the authentic Byron Effing Hunt & came across an Idaho tundra reference, I knew I had the right man. I could, in the interest of staying on topic, share idle rumours, compromising photos (from his omnisexuality period - remember that, Byron?), vicious gossip, and assorted innuendo... But he's spent a long time living all that down

How exciting...a reunion on the boards. Rob: you know you can't go and mention those stories without sharing a few with everyone. It'll keep him modest.

Oi! The rest of you...shut it! ROB!!! Me old mukka, what a seriously pleasant blast from the past, and ever so welcome. Of course, it's no surprise to have you find me on a Pink Floyd board since you were one of the main instigators of my Floyd fanaticism, you bastard! And, btw, there is no terror in your threats. Dead chuffed actually, Byron

What a touching moment Rob: did you know he likes it if you call him Brian??? Just stirring Byron, I'm bored.

You seem to be notorious wherever you go, Byron... Driven: Byron? Modest? If anything, it'll make him worse. But DO call him Brian every chance you get; he secretly likes it. So much he'll hunt you down and do surgery on you with a rusty fork. Thorin13: See above. PearlWaters: It was me, 24 years ago - I just thought Byron'd get a kick out of it. I'm pretty sure he took the photo. BoaB: Really? No terror? Do they know you're also a Donny Osmond fan? Or about your bit on the Art Linkletter show?
