| Re: The Wall live I've had Is There Anybody Out There? for one month or so. Since then, I concluded that: 1. What Shall We Do Now? - great song, even better than in the movie. 2. The Wall is even more powerful when played live. 3. Roger's bass lines are lovely. 4. I love Nick's drums tuning. 5. The echo is nasty. 6. The Floyd is really great live. 7. Roger's voice is weird sometimes. 8. What happened to Mother? Horrible noise when Gilmour sings. 9. Rick should have never gotten out of the act. 10. Gilmour gained weight since the DSOTM days. What are you conclusion? cheers

Firstly, I don't have ITAOT so I couldn't tell you, but since I DID witness THE WALL Live I'm not all that bothered. My memory - and the studio version and film - still serves well enough. Secondly - and I don't want you to think I'm getting at you, because I'm not - there are already TWO threads within this forum which address THE WALL Live recording: http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/forums/v...=642&forum=4&3 http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/forums/v...352&forum=4&26 Admittedly, none of the opinions expressed are as detailed as yours.

| Re: The Wall live BoaB...trying out for a moderator's cap are we? Yeah I agree with all the statements made above. I also noticed the funny noises during Gilmour's singing part on Mother. And I think the guitar solo on Mother is one of my favourite solos (HEAPS better than the album version), what an awesome piece.

| Re: The Wall live Driven: Maybe I'm mistaken on this (wouldn't be the first time...), but on the 'Live Wall' version of 'Mother', I thought that Dave was on acoustic, and one of the other guitarists (Snowy White?) was on lead. If I'm wrong, please set me straight.

| Re: The Wall live I'm not sure mate. The fact that Gilmour stops singing the very last bit of the chorus (at least it sounds like he does) suggests that he's preparing for the solo. Either way I still love that extended solo.

Well you are lucky cause the wise ass in has leared how to use their better judgements, or maybe i am getting old cause i am 21 and all, but in reply this post i was thinking of posting another thread about opions of the wall live just for sh*ts and giggles, but i will not do it, i will just tell you of my plan which i have already done there for that is all i have to say about that and i am just wasting my time here writing anymore and my favorite part on the wall at the end of another brick part 2 when the person yells "if you don't eat your you can't have any pudding how you can have any pudding if you don't eat your meat"

Firstly, cho.manno, my apologies, and now I'll tell you for why. :We need a contrite smiley!: I finally got a copy of THE WALL Live in Berlin, and taking my own advice I looked on this web site for previous entries and couldn't find one. The two references I pointed you to dealt strictly with ITAOT. Now, although the Berlin concert falls outside this Forum's date range (1977-1983), because it IS Waters dominated and "The Wall Live" I reckoned only your topic seemed suitable. So, my mistake. Sorry. ![]() Have got as far as Mother on Disk 1 and so far am a bit dubious but hopeful. And hey, Roger's there so it's quasi-Floyd. Friendly Floydian, Byron

| Re: The Wall live And was massively impressed with "Goodbye Blue Sky" sung by JONI MITCHELL!!! This is my favourite song from THE WALL and sung by one of my favourite singers; Rock Legend, Hippy Earth Mother, Diva, thingy. ![]() (I feel like that strange teenager discovering PINK FLOYD for the first time) It manages somehow to be even more haunting than the boys' version. Dead impressed.

| Re: The Wall live Back in 1990, I stayed up to listen to and record the live broadcast of "The Wall Live from Berlin." It was mostly good, except for the always-annoying Cyndi Lauper, and I wasn't crazy about the backing vocals and some of the instrumentation (goddam accordians). Snowy did a good job imitating Dave...Bryan Adams was great on "Young Lust". They had about a 45 minute delay in the middle of Goodbye Blue Sky because of a power failure. But overall, it's my least favorite version. I love the ITAOT live version. There is enough variation from the studio version to make it fun to listen to. The guitar parts are all way better, IMHO. Like on Mother, the accoustic guitar really jumps out at you where on the studio version they are hardly noticable. And I like Roger stoking up the crowd at the beginning of Run Like Hell. I just think it is by far the best version. _________________ ....shall we buy a new guitar??....shall we drive a more powerful car??....HELL YES!!!! ....my hands felt just like two balloons... ..ooooohhh, I need a dirty woman.....

| Re: The Wall live Quote:
Actually, I'm quite positive it was Roger on acoustic, so it's still Dave performing the lead electric guitar part, including the solo. And anyway I think you can hear it: it's true that Snowy's good at imitating BDG, but you can still tell the difference, and that sounds like Dave, especially the extended part. Hope this helps! ![]() Cheers ![]() Oh, by the way, Which One's Pink?
